Gerald M. Lemole, M.D.

Dr. Lemole received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University in Philadelphia in 1958, and doctor of medicine degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1962. In 1968, Dr. Lemole was a member of the surgical team that performed the first successful heart transplant in the United States. In 1969, he performed the first coronary bypass in the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. At age 32, he was named Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Temple University. In 1982, as a visiting Professor at the University of Istanbul, Turkey, Dr. Lemole performed that nation’s first successful coronary artery bypass procedure. In addition to the Medical-Dental Staff of Christiana Care Health System, Dr. Lemole is a member of the medical staffs of the A.I. du Pont Institute, Wilmington, Delaware, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Episcopal Hospital, Graduate Hospital, Holy Redeemer Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, all in Philadelphia. Dr. Lemole has lectured extensively and written numerous articles for professional publications. He is listed in the publication “Who’s Who in the United States” and the Marquis “Who’s Who Directory of Medical Specialists.” He is a past recipient of the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award. Dr. Lemole is listed in Philadelphia Magazine and Delaware Today Magazine in the “Best Doctors” issues as well as the National Listing of Best Doctors in America.

Robert Abel, Jr., MD

Dr. Abel earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in 1969, completed his ophthalmology residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital and was a Cornea Fellow at the University of Florida. A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Abel is on the staff of the Christiana Care Health System. He is a former Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University. He founded and has been Medical Director of the Medical Eye Bank of Delaware since 1981. He teaches locally and internationally on numerous subjects, including cornea, cataract and nutrition. He instructs the Cornea Microsurgery Workshops at the Academy of Ophthalmology meetings annually and has been on the Academy’s Committee of International Ophthalmology. Dr. Abel has done active research on corneal transplants, corneal pathology, contact lenses and drugs as they relate to the eye. He holds two patents on artificial corneas and has received the AAO Honor Award and the Senior Honor Award. Dr. Abel is the author of the popular new book, “The Eye Care Revolution,” which teaches patients how to treat and reverse common vision problems. Dr. Abel was voted a Top Doctor by the readers of Delaware Today in September of 2011. Dr. Abel integrates modern medicine, alternative remedies and natural options in order to connect eye care with general health. Mark Menolascino, MD

Dr. Mark Menolascino has over 25 years of health care experience, he completed Medical School at the University of Nebraska Medical Center then completed Internal Medicine Specialist Training with Banner Health, Barrows and The Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He is one of a few physicians that is Board Certified as an Internal Medicine Specialist, Board Certified in Holistic Medicine as well as Board Certificated in Advanced Hormone Management and Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. Menolascino additionally has a Master’s Degree in Pharmacology and Immunology, and was a doctoral candidate in the Medical Scientist Program assisting with Clinical Trials of new medications as well as part of the Heart Disease Reversal Team with Dr. Dean Ornish. His medical knowledge is complemented by advanced training and clinical experience in Nutrition, Naturopathic, Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture, Ayurvedic Medicine and Homeopathy.

Bruce Sokoloff, MD

Dr. Sokoloff has been practicing medicine in Wilmington, Delaware since 1986 and opened his first practice in 1989. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and board certified in Internal Medicine and Forensics, Dr. Sokoloff is one of the most accredited physicians in the Wilmington area. Dr Sokoloff places a strong emphasis on ongoing education and regularly attends The Institute of Functional Medicine seminars and meetings. He has extensive experience in preventative Cardiology, Osteoporosis, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Diabetes, Arthritis, Asthma and other common chronic conditions. Beginning in 2006, Dr. Sokoloff began offering integrative medicine to his patients with heavy emphasis on prevention and whole-food diets. Additionally, Dr. Sokoloff focuses on building the immune system and using supplements and alternative treatments for hyperlipidemia and inflammatory disease. Dr. Sokoloff is on staff at Christiana Care Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital.

David Cuccia, MD

Dr. David Cuccia is an Honor Graduate of LSU School of Medicine and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, being honored as Most Outstanding Senior Student in Emergency Medicine. He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.S. in Biology with Magna Cum Laude honors and from the University of New Orleans with a B.A. in Chemistry, graduating Cum laude. Dr. Cuccia has been on staff with Ochsner Clinic, Leonard J. Chabert Hospital, Singing River Hospital System, Slidell Memorial Hospital and North Shore Regional Hospital. Dr. Cuccia grew up in New Orleans, and he and his wife Giselle have 4 beautiful children.

Elizabeth Kukielka, PharmD, RPh

Dr. Elizabeth Kukielka, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduated with honors from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 2008. She has been working in community pharmacy with Walgreens since 2006, starting in the Philadelphia suburbs as a student pharmacist and moving to the Brandywine Valley in 2008 as a licensed pharmacist. Elizabeth is licensed to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland, although she presently spends most of her time at her home Walgreens in Wilmington, Delaware. She can provide a wide variety of health testing services to patients in the pharmacy, including tests for blood glucose and HgA1c. Elizabeth has filled many roles related to patient care in the pharmacy, including working as the District Diabetes Representative and Medication Therapy Management Coordinator, which has enabled her to provide education to patients and peers alike. She enjoys working with patients every day to help them better understand proper medication and medical device use.

Robin Foroutan, RD, HHC

As an Integrative Registered Dietitian and Holistic Health Counselor, Robin Foroutan, RD, HHC, combines the basic tenets of healthy eating with the emerging science of Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition. Robin received training as a Dietitian through Columbia University and holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. She is also a Board Certified Holistic Health Counselor through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

H.Dean McSpadden, DDS

Dr. McSpadden is a native of Wilmington, Delaware who graduated from Friends School in 1967. After working as a musician for 5 years, he graduated with honors from the University of Delaware in 1976, from the state University of Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1980 and completed an internship at Wilmington Hospital in 1981. Dr. McSpadden received a Fellowship from The Academy of General Dentistry in 1985 and became a Master in the Academy in 2005. He is a member of the Delaware State Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the L.D.Pankey Institute for Advanced Restorative Dentistry and is past President of the Delaware State Dental Board. As a member of The Crown Council, Dr. McSpadden has been involved with the National Smiles for Life Foundation that has raised over $20 million for children’s charities. Dr. McSpadden and his staff raised over $100,000 in Delaware for this cause.

Debra Laino, DHS, M.ed

Dr. Deb Laino is a Board Certified Sex Therapist and Sex Educator. She is a Professor at Philadelphia University and Wilmington University and is in Private Practice. She holds a Doctorate degree in Human Sexuality, a Master’s degree in Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Education as well as countless other psychology/humanities courses. Dr. Laino does countless media appearances and is a published author.
